Very smooth and easy learning class. What I liked most was that they broke everything down very easy for you to understand and they answered all questions. They really do care about read more every single person in the class. It was really fun too. I learned a lot from this course. Definitely recommend!

Great introductory class to the basics on firearms and your rights in Florida! Kyle was our instructor and the whole class was laughing and engaged the entire time! Very informative, read more wish there would have been more hands on but for a basic class and cheap price it was right on point! Highly recommended for first timers.

Peggy was our certified instructor and was very clear and informed. I learned a lot of things that were very important to the safety, legalities , and some hands on situations for read more handling firearms correctly. I would recommend this class to my family and friends. The class was very responsive, and participation from all students. With a wide variety of employments. It went by fast but the amount covered in the short time was very informative. Thanks Peggy

Tommy began teaching concealed weapons classes in 2011 and quickly discovered that helping people to protect themselves and their loved ones was his calling. In 2016 Tommy began Focused Fire Training and it has grown to become the largest concealed carry training program in the State of Florida. Tommy served as a law enforcement officer for 14 years in north Florida and is a certified firearms instructor through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Tommy has served as a SWAT team commander and trained police cadets, active law enforcement from around the country, special operators, and military personnel. Tommy authored a book, Handgun Fundamentals for the New Shooter, which helps new shooters and seasoned shooters with their skills and training techniques. Tommy owns two additional companies, Law Enforcement Advanced Programs and Protect His House.

Jims’ resume includes over 15 years of law enforcement experience, approximately one-third of which is in the training division. Jim is a graduate of the Unites States Army Military Police School, Rehabilitation Training Instructor Course where he was awarded the Distinguished Honor Graduate Award. Jim is an active law enforcement Captain and he has held multiple positions throughout his career to include being a SWAT member, Sniper, Detective Sergeant, and Street Crimes/Narcotic Unit Supervisor. Some of his Instructor certifications include: FDLE: Firearms, Dart Firing Stun Gun, and he holds the Lead Instructor position for vehicle Operations and First Aid/CPR at an FDLE approved Criminal Justice Training Center. Jim is also a Patrol Rifle Instructor.Instructors

Grady is a law enforcement veteran with 12 years' experience, as well as a firearms instructor during his career. Since leaving law enforcement, Grady has continued his firearms instruction endeavors by instructing civilian education classes on basic and advanced firearms courses, and Situational Awareness. "I have a passion for training and believe in educating the people as much as possible in order to arm and equip the population to be our own sheepdogs and protect our own flocks. No one should live in fear of others dictating how their day is going to go."

Instructor Scott Thompson comes to Focused Fire Training with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. Recently retired, Scott brings the perspective of a former Homicide/Violent Crimes Detective to his classes. As an NRA Instructor and Range Safety Officer, he has instructed thousands of students in both classroom settings and one-on-one instruction. He has a track record of transforming new gun owners to being confident and competent.

J.T. Williams

J.T. Williams is an active-duty Police Officer in North central Florida, where he lives on a ten-acre farm with his wife and two dogs. J.T. started as a firearms instructor in 2004 teaching law enforcement recruits at a local Police Academy, where he still instructs weekly. In addition to being a long-time instructor, J.T. shoots handguns competitively in USPSA and IDPA.

Chris has an impressive resume' which includes over 28 years of experience in law enforcement, most of which was spent in the training division. Chris also served in the U.S. Army. Chris is an active law enforcement officer for a mid-sized agency in north central FL. Chris has held multiple positions throughout his career, including: Sergeant, Drug Task Force Agent, and a Sniper. Some of Chris' Instructor certifications include: FDLE: Firearms, First Aid, Defensive Tactics, NRA Patrol Rifle Instructor, Combat Shooting and Tactical Rifle Instructor.

Employed with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for 14 years. Currently assigned to the patrol division as a sergeant. Prior to being promoted to sergeant, I was a Special Victims Unit detective for 6 years. Currently a team leader on the Crowd Management Team Former assignments: bike team and rifle team Currently an Adjunct Instructor with Santa Fe College, where I teach defensive tactics, driving, firearms, and other general law enforcement courses. Steven Stinsky

Steven Stinsky enlisted in the military in 1984 as an active-duty Army MP. He served as a combat support MP for 2 nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea. While stationed in Korea, he became certified as a Military Police Investigator and conducted Black Market and undercover drug investigations. Upon leaving active duty, Steve enlisted in the Army Reserve as a Cavalry Scout and transferred into the IRR to pursue a career with the Pennsylvania State Police. In 1996 Steve enlisted in the US Air Force Reserve as a C-130 crew chief. He served two tours in southwest Asia in support of operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Steve enlisted into the Delaware Air National Guard where he was selected to serve as the State’s 12 th State Command Chief Master Sergeant. Steve returned to his Army roots and currently serves in training and Operations roles with the 78 th Training Division. Steve served in a variety of roles with the state police including patrol, narcotics investigation, technical surveillance specialist, instructor, and served on a several task forces including an assignment as the state police liaison to the US Customs Service. Steve rose to the rank of Sergeant and retired as a Station Commander in 2011. Upon retiring from the state police, Steve was hired as the Chief of Police for the Fleetwood Police Department. In his role as Chief, Steve also served as a cross designated county detective and in the roles of Deputy Commander and Commander for the Berks County Emergency Response Team. Steve is a certified Firearms Instructor holding certifications by the NRA as a patrol rifle instructor and the state police as a handgun and shotgun instructor. Steve is also an approved instructor to qualify retired law enforcement officers for their yearly certification. Additionally, Steve has been certified as an instructor for defensive tactics, de-escalation, Taser, active shooter training, is a trained crisis negotiator, and has attended the 5-day Force Science Institute training course to review use of force incidents. Steve began instructing for Focused Fire Training in 2021 and is currently employed as the Security Manager for Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center.Virginia

Tom’s background in self-defense training is derived from service in two police agencies, working as security contractor for the federal government and over 10 years of mix martial arts training. His professional certifications include handgun and rifle instructor, active shooter response instructor, First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, CCW instructor, NRA Refuse to be a Victim instructor and he also holds licenses as a Utah and Maryland qualified firearms instructor.
